Before heading out to your local lighting or home improvement store, take a look at the base to determine what type you need. There is nothing more frustrating than bringing home the perfect lampshade only to find out that it is the wrong fit to the base.

So true! I keep a stash of vintage shades and re-use the frame to create my newish shades......I can't remember the last time I bought a new lampshade....The Goodwill Store has a pretty good select to choose from it you like to re-vamp.....

But, good advise!
